Making a Pipe Dream come True...

Ever since I was very little, stories and books have fascinated me. And that in turn would give me dreams of my own, those of which included getting my own book published one day. With success stories like J.K Rowling and Stephanie Meyer, it's hard not to dream about your story becoming the next New York Times Bestseller. And I have written small stories since I could write. But the odds are very slim and I would be happy with just my name, under my title.
I have three books written right now. And I have to say, that I love them, my best friend Sarah likes them. LOL, I remember when she would beg me for the next part because I would always stop right there. My reasoning's were that I needed to let the story sit and marinate a little before I would continue it, and she understood that, it's just that she wanted to know what happened next NOW! LOL, and I totally know where she comes from with that.
But I am not blogging about "The Society" right now. No I am blogging about one little project that could possibly turn into something better.
A few years ago, when I had just left high school, about two weeks or so, my mom gave me an idea when I held a sheet of stickers in my hand. I wanted an art project for the summer, and I sat at my favorite seat on the couch looking out our window.
You see, the sheet of stickers in my hands, were of an alphabet, but it was different. The letters were decorated with items that corresponded with that letter. I thought out loud that it would be cool if I did my own alphabet. And mom said, "Well why don't you?" And then it hit me, a Dinosaur Alphabet Book.
Now, I knew I had challenge before me, the notes on the back of the sheet of stickers said that it took the artist two years to complete the collection she had there. I didn't really think I had the drive or the skill to do it. But once I got the first five or so done, I realized that this was EXACTLY what I wanted to be doing.
And low and behold, three-ish years later, I have a complete set of letters, complete with their own poems and letterboxes. In a month or so, maybe, just maybe less, I plan on sending it in to possibly get published. Today I finally got a draft of a Query Letter that I don't think I'll end up deleting completely. I'll probably alter it and such, but this time, I don't think the entire thing will end up in my recycle bin like it's twenty or so predecessors have. LOL.
Maybe I might put it up here for your opinions, but for now I think I'll just stick with posting the 2 out of the 3 letters I plan on sending in for my pitch.
I'm only posting 2 because I haven't been able to pick a third yet, and I might post it when I finally do.
So here they are, Q and C.

"C" Dino: Carnotaur, Letterbox: Ceratopsians
Carnotaur, the name brings fear.
Sounding mighty, strong, and full
But there is a truth you should hear.
The name means, "meat-bull."

"Q" Dino: Quetzalcoatlus- Letterbox: The Mayan Rune
Quetzacoatlus soars amongst the mist over all he can see.
Flying with no fear amongst the fog.
For why should he?
When he is named for a god?

I hope your dream comes true. I know I would defiantly buy a copy. And it would be a great thing to have in an elementary classroom.
