...Um, wow. Last night's episode, which I got to watch on TV like everyone else, (yay!) was not as critically good as usual, when you compare it to an episode like "The End," or even as funny as "Changing Channels." It was, however, in a category all its own.
I loved this episode, if there was one you could compare it to, I guess it would be along the lines of "The Real Ghostbusters."
So, the whole opening scene had a Twilight spoof, and I was giggling the whole time. I love Twilight, but this was hysterical. The guy/vampire even had a whole RPatz vibe going on. I liked his jacket a lot. LOL
So anyways, girls are practically throwing themselves at vampires and they see this as a prime opportunity. Dean and Sam catch on and decide it's time to cut off some heads.
They track the vamps down, and gasp!!!! Dean gets turned into a vampire!!!!
But that's not the half of it. Dean gets turned, and Sam stands and watches it happen, with a fricken' smile on his face!!!! Shocking!!!!
But, holy cow, is Dean hot!!! as a vampire. I mean, he smoldered his eyes so hotly, that I thought the TV screen would melt. HMMMMM....vampire Dean. RPatz wishes he could stare like that. And Dean before you get all judgey at vampires watching people sleep, you did it too! lol
So anyways, we find out that the Alpha Vampire is recruiting to make an army of vampires, and G-pa Sam, has a cure for Dean. Sigh...no more vampire Dean.
Anyways, not a smash like "The End," or "Lazurus Rising," but in its own sense, I thoroughly enjoyed this episode.
Now, I am getting the feeling that some of the fans are disappointed with the season so far. And I will admit that I had my reservations with there being a new season, especially after the show was supposed to end last season, but now I have no doubts. I am loving the new direction this show is taking and I can't wait to see where it ends.
So next week's episode is all about the truth, and that is where I hope we find out what the heck is going on with Sam!

Supernatural S6 E4: "Weekend at Bobby's."
I have to admit, I wasn't really looking forward this episode. I mean, I was because I was curious to see how Jensen would handle the Director's chair. So maybe it was him, or maybe it was the fact that this episode really was that good.
This is Bobby's first episode. It was all about him, and basically what he does in a day, or weekend.
It seems like he's a master at putting out fires, helping the boys, helping good old Rufus, and of course the flirty neighbor lady. (Who is also on another TV show I watch by the way. And no, for once it's not Bones.) LOL
The one thing that kept me giggling throughout the entire episode was the fact that Bobby was never able to eat his dessert. It kind of reminds me of living at home. There's always something else that comes up suddenly, and nope, Plan A is out the window.
So there seems to be a new pattern emerging with the monsters of the show. They're turning up in places that they shouldn't be. A Japanese monster in the US, a Greece monster in the US...why is this happening?
But that was kind of understated throughout this episode, because of course, it's all about Bobby tonight.
It's pretty obvious that the boys take him for granted, and I'm glad he finally gave them a good talking to. Yes Dean, please stop calling Bobby to bitch about Sam. For crying out loud, just talk to him! Stop being such a girl!
We also find out more about Crowley, and that was cool, I hope we see more about him. He's most interesting thing to pop onto Supernatural since Castiel.
Easily one of their best episodes in awhile. And I can't wait to see if Jensen directs more episodes, cause he did an amazing job on this one.
And about Friday's episode. I really can't wait for this one!!!! Dean is going to be turned into a vampire! Um so cool! Of course he's not going to stay that way, blah blah blah, but 40 glorious minutes of Dean the Vampire? Can we say this generation's Angel? Heck yeah we can!
Oh, and let the lambasting of Twilight begin!

This must be how those Michael Jackson fanatics felt..
So, I learned one week ago today, that my idol of the animal world passed away in May of 2009.
Her name was Echo.
And she was the reason I wanted to get into studying and observing animals. Specifically elephants.
Now, I know that my major has nothing to do with elephants, but I someday want to go out in the field and just watch learn, whatever I can.
Echo was 65 years old and led and guided her herd for many years. Who could ever forget when she rescued Ebony from a rival herd?
Just thinking about her death saddens me in a way I can't really understand. I never knew her personally, was never involved with her documentaries in any way, but I feel a connection to the animal that showed me my path. I don't know how many times I've watched my BBC DVD collection of her, or the American Nature episodes.
Tonight's episode now follows the herd as they deal with her death, and I know that it will be hard to watch. But it is the next chapter of her story, and like any good observer, you must deal with the happy and the sad.
ps, I put this episode on my wishlist for Amazon, I want to complete the collection as it were. lol

Supernatural S6 E3: "The Third Man."
Ok, so I watched the latest episode on Saturday, and this is my review.
Three words: "Cas is back!"
So, I think that Supernatural has finally gotten back on its feet since Kripke left the helm. That last episode had everything, humor, drama, and really bad things happening to normal people.
So, Sam and Dean are investigating a mysterious death, a cop just turned to blood. Weird. When Castiel shows up and tell the brothers that the staff of Moses has been missing since the apocalypse had been derailed.
Of course Dean just has to make a Chuck Heston joke. The brothers then wonder why they have to help Castiel since he has been AWOL for a year, and here Cas gives a very convincing and funny argument. Who knew the guy could keep his humor after being a "celestial light" for a year.
So, we also find out that Heaven is having a virtual civil war, the archangel Raphael, or as Dean calls him, "The Super Ninja Turtle Angel," wants his angels to reload the apocalypse. So the civil is between his angels and the angels that don't want the apocalypse to happen.
As the episode commences, two more people die in awfully weird Supernautrally ways.
We meet another angel, Balthazar, who had stolen the items, and a piece of salt that turned Raphael's vessel to salt.
It was a great episode, and I am soooo looking forward to Jensen's directorial debut next week.

Analyzing the Season 6 Title Card.
So, the above video is the Supernatural Season 6 title card. Every season it's a new one, and supposedly each one has a significant meaning to the season. Last year it was an exploding drop of blood. And we all know that blood has played a key role in the brother's lives in the show. Sam's addiction, they're related, they're lineage of hunters...and well, it's the prop guys favorite set decoration.
Anyways, in this season, we have shattering glass, and then a mirror reflection. Many people I've read had suggested that this was Dean's life being turned upside down, or shattered, from Sam coming back, and him deciding to leave the domestic life.
But I think differently.
The tag line of this season is, "Trust No One."
Which makes the whole mirror image thing perfect.
From the beginning it is clear that Dean cannot fully trust Samuel C. Or any of the other Campbells. He really can't even trust Sam.
Which of course is odd, since the normal thing to do would be to trust Sam, I mean, he's Dean's brother.
Which leads me to the storyline itself, everything is off with the characters. And the writing seems a bit tweaked.
It's like looking through the rose colored glass. We're in backwards Supernatural-land, and for me, it's fun to see a fresh look at a great show.
So, this is my interpretation of the title card. For the most part, I'm probably completely off, but it's fun to speculate.

Supernatural S6 E2: "Two and a Half Men."
So, I thought last week's episode of Supernatural last week was really good. Well it didn't compare to this episode at all.
So, Sam was working a case and found a baby. So he calls on Dean for help. Of course there were a lot of men raising babies jokes, and crying jokes. But there was plenty of action and mystery. Lots of mystery.
I'm finding that I can't trust Sam or his new Hunter friends.
There are so many things wrong with them, but you can't place your finger on what it is. I can't wait to see how they back stab Dean or something and get their motives out in the open. Anyways, I'm really looking forward to seeing how this season plays out.
Oh, and major props to the writer's on the last seconds of the episode. Classic Dean, classic Supernatural.
Here's the preview for next week. Cas is back!!! Yay! And it looks like we're going down a biblical plague sideline. It feels like a more season 5 episode. We'll see. I'm really looking forward to it.
